Whilst I can’t say I’m in Steve’s inner circle, as a fellow cycling adventurer, I’ve been in touch with him since our paths virtually crossed as I cycled to Greece, a year after moving to the Forest, as Steve cycled to meet club members down in southern France. With many of our club burning paths on paths less cycled, I thought it a good time to resurrect interviews getting to know our club member. We join Steve as he approaches the end of his current jaunt, heading north from the southern most tip of Europe on dusty gravel trails and mountain passes.

RDFCC Annual General Meeting welcomes all members and those who are interested in taking an active role in the club.

Seven out on the first official ride out since the easing of Lockdown restrictions.
Matt Neale led the ride out from Parkend, along with Claire Jackson, Tom Cotterell, Martin Howitt, Neil Vaughan Jo Hussey and myself in tow.

Teri Chance has joined RDFCC, being completely new to cycling, and having a plan in mind. Delayed from 2020, it may happen in 2021...

Thursday night Zwift racing report

Our CBAR competition is the overall result of the club time trials throughout the year. Points are awarded to all riders in each event. The faster you go, the more points you get. The CBAR classes are decided by the average speed a rider manages and where there is a noticeable gap a new class is created (all very approximately!) Regular riding is rewarded with lots of points. You don’t have to be the fastest to win your class, just the most consistent. The colours are in order of speed, red being the super-fast and black being the old (and slow) men/women, unfit and occasional riders.

Hopefully a first and last in a year that should largely be forgotten, RDFCC awards go ahead against all the odds.
